This
is a new approach to real estate. I am
gradually redesigning the website to more reflect my personality, rather
than just use the same basic format and design that thousands of other
agents and offices use. I
hope you enjoy your visit. I really don't
care what other real estate agents and offices do or don't do on their
sites. I am going to give you what I think you want and/or need,
(links if I can) and maybe a little more. If I miss something, tell me!
This
is where I tell you about my approach to most things. I don't take
myself too seriously. I am relaxed and informal and I march to my
own beat. I like to find the humor in things and situations.
I am intelligent, somewhat analytical, and able to make my own
decisions. I do not follow the crowd, because frankly I don't
think the crowd really knows where it's going or what it's doing at least half the time.
The
picture is noteworthy because it's made a lasting impression on me.*
As I get
older, I think more and more decisions are made by people that can
really relate to this picture. These days I hear of college
students that just surf the net and copy papers, rather than actually do
the research and report their work. I guess what's at right is
essentially the same thing. I don't think its a lack of talent or
inspiration, I just think people are lazier than they have ever
been.
There is also another
cartoon that showed up in the early 1980's, but I can't remember
where. (I know it was the early 80's because I remember being
enlisted in the Navy at the time.) I do remember the cartoon quite
clearly though. This cartoon portrayed an old, balding, white
judge sitting behind the bench admonishing a far younger but impeccably
dressed hippie/beatnik-looking attorney. The older judge, shaking
his finger, says:
|
"You better
show me some respect sonny! I kissed a lot of ass to get where I
am today!" |
|
That cartoon always makes
me think. It's also why I don't take myself all that
seriously.
As you go through my site,
some
pictures will make you laugh, some emphasize or illustrate a topic, and
still other pictures are just there for effect only. (Just testing
making sure you're paying attention! :-) Maybe you'll like it, or maybe not but hey, I
can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time! If I offend, please
tell me why and I will consider removing the offending item.
* I remembered this picture appearing in a National
Lampoon magazine in the mid 1970's. In 2005, I contacted
National Lampoon and they found the picture and sent it to
me.
