Revised June 9, 2009 Welcome - I sure need some help! (Semi-Confidential) There are no links from my primary website to this page - you've arrived here because you were invited. Please don't share this page with my competitors. Thanks. Relevant Info: Webhost-Hostway with WindowsGold plan (not Unix), FrontPage 2000 with extensions installed. Desktop-XPhome, Access2000, FrontPage 2000, CuteFTP. I do not use the "publish" function in FP2000, but transfer files manually using CuteFTP program. I use one db called login, and when visitors respond to my registration page online, I get an email from them. I use info in this email to register them manually into my login db. I enter new user information into db, and xfer to webhost when needed. The second db called listings contains property information. Both db's are entirely
independent of one another. For our purposes, we will select RESIDENTIAL. Please login using "steve" and "sesame" with no quotes. Login Page is ASP file. This takes you to a criteria page; also an ASP file. When visitor inputs criteria, the next step is to "Show Results". When a visitor hits the "Show Results" I'd like an email sent to me that shows the following in the message (not full header info): Date/Time, IP address, each criteria selection, User name, Password When the visitor hits the "Show Results" they are taken to a roster of properties with brief information. The results page is also an ASP file. Next, I need a method to limit the number of returns that populate the roster page. I need code that will create a message similar to "54 records found, displaying 20-40" where I can set the MAXIMUM number of returns on one page or simply set a limit of 20; then generate total number of pages and let visitor select "next-previous, 1, 2, ...11" to look at the returns in chunks instead of one long continuous return. (similar to a catalog rather than continuous) I need code that lets me specify the number of returns to show on one page; and that generates the page breaks. If the visitor sees a property and wants more info, they click on the underlined street address and are taken to a full property information sheet. When they select an individual property, it would be nice (least importance) to get another email that shows the following: The "details" page is also an ASP file. Date/Time, IP address, User name, Password, and ID=code number of property
In a nutshell, that's the help I need. I have no problem providing you
with the html for the underlying web pages. I'd bet the solutions can be
incorporated into them, and not so much the db end of things. |

Useful pointers here,
but they are over my head. |
